Pre-Raphaelite Perfection
Posted on
We were recently asked by photographers Jenny & Keith McAvoy to be involved in a shoot in the beautiful grounds at Styal Lodge. Jenny & Keith wanted to recreate the paintings of the Pre-Raphaelite movement. So, armed with their brief we took inspiration from the paintings of artists such as Arthur Hughes and John William Waterhouse who painted 'Hamlet's' innocent love interest 'Ophelia'.
Their model for the day, Bethany, was a prefect choice with her long, softly waved hair. We dressed Bethany in an 'Ophelia' inspired white Chiffon dress with silver trim and the fantastic Verdure Floral Design created some romantic bouquets which included peonies, alliums and were finished with lots of ivy. They also created an ivy head dress to complete the look.
The grounds at Styal Lodge were a stunning back drop with long grasses, pretty buttercups and beautiful mature trees. Jenny & Keith McAvoy brilliantly captured the essence of the theme. Take a look at just a few of their images.......
